What instruments do you offer lessons for? Currently, I offer piano, guitar, ukulele, and baritone ukulele lessons as well as vocal and songwriting coaching

How do your lessons work? Students REGISTER ONLINE and will then be prompted to schedule a time slot, typically for half an hour once a week.

Where do your lessons take place? My studio is located at 206 E Broadway Avenue in Farmington, New Mexico

How often should I schedule my lessons? Weekly! Occasionally, I'll offer the chance to schedule bi-weekly if weekly isn't an option, but weekly is preferred for consistency.

How much are your lessons? I charge tuition- $120/month

Are books included? No, a list of materials used in lessons can be found linked HERE. Students are welcome to bring their own learning materials as well!

What books do I need to buy? For new beginning students, I typically start the following cirriculum:

Piano: Faber Piano Adventures (Lesson, Theory, Technique & Artistry Books), plus an exercise book (Dozen A Day or Fingerpower)

Guitar: Mel Bay's Complete Children's Method OR Alfred's Guitar Method for Adults

Ukulele: Alfred's Complete Kids Ukulele Course OR Hal Leonard Ukulele Method

If you're unsure of what to purchase, don't hestitate to reach out!

Does every student go through the same program? Not at all! I have a standard method book for each instrument that functions as a basis for lessons, but I'm extremely open to tailoring the lesson program to the the students needs and goals.

Do I have to bring my instrument to my lesson? Yes! Students playing hand-held instruments such as a guitar or ukulele are expected to bring their instruments to lessons. Keyboard students are not required to do so.

What happens if I want to cancel? You can view my complete cancellation policy HERE

What about snow? In the event of severe weather, lessons will be migrated to Zoom or offered as a makeup. Arrangements will be made on a case-to-case basis and will closely revolve around the road condition of Route 64, as I commute from Shiprock NM.

How often should I (or my child) be practicing? It depends on how long your student has been taking lessons. Beginning students (roughly the first 1-2 months of lessons) should emphasize frequency. Practicing for 5 minutes 3 times a day will be better for their brain/fingers than practicing for a solid 15 minutes to develop technique/muscle memory. After the first 2 months, students should begin practicing for the length of their lesson time at least 4 times per week, or 3 times through each of their lesson pieces, whichever takes longer.
